Klim Type Foundry

To launch the typeface The Future, a homage to Paul Renner’s Futura, DMY was tasked with creating a campaign video for Klim Type Foundry. We wanted to convey the typeface’s forward-looking spirit by exploring futuristic materials inspired by actual scientific breakthroughs, such as magnetic liquids, bioluminescent substances, and temperature-reactive compounds. Our concept recreated selected letterforms in 3D to mimic the behaviours of these innovative materials, presenting them as though observed through lab microscopes or high-powered devices. To reinforce the experimental feel, we composed original music reminiscent of a science documentary. The video was further adapted into short clips for promotional use, capturing the essence of The Future and its progressive, speculative connection to modernity.
